Bookings
-
New client bookings require a complimentary meet & greet before reservations can be confirmed. This is to discuss all your pet's needs to ensure all involved have a safe and happy experience. While I do my best to accommodate all requests, I strongly recommend making your booking as far in advance as possible. As my services are unique, in that I accommodate 1 boarding family at a time, I tend to get booked months in advance.
-
Gurr & Purr will attempt to accommodate the desired time for home visit bookings. Please allow for a 2 hour window as emergencies and unforeseen situations can occur. Should this happen I will notify you of the time change asap.
-
While I do my best to be flexible with booking dates/times your booking has been carefully scheduled and reserved for you. Therefore no refunds or credits are given for last minute changes such as later drop offs or early pick ups.
-
In the event that unforeseen purchases arise, such as food, medication, etc., that are a direct need for your pet, all receipts will be retained and reimbursement due at end of service.
-
Gurr & Purr strongly recommends that you inform your vet clinic that you have contracted a pet sitter. Provide your clinic with all contact details for Gurr & Purr. It is also suggested to leave a credit card number on file with your vet clinic. In the event of an emergency your clinic will be able to perform services if you cannot be reached.
-
All clients are required to sign Gurr & Purr's Service Agreement before booking begins.
-
Gurr & Purr requires a key and/or alarm codes for entering your home/property. These are kept in a lock box when not in use.
-
KEYS & ENTRY-please test your keys to be sure they work correctly in the lock. Faulty keys, bent or wrong keys prevent entry to your home to care for your pets.
-
ELECTRONIC LOCKS-please be sure to have an entrance with a back up key lock. Electronic locks often do not work in extreme weather and batteries fail. This prevents me from entering your home to care for your pets.
-
It is strongly suggested that all clients provide contact information for service/maintenance providers in case of a household emergency, such as leaking pipes, furnace breakdown, etc.

Vaccinations/Parasites
-
Gurr & Purr requires that all pets be current on all core vaccinations and be on a parasite prevention program. Proof of vaccinations must be provided. Vaccinations do expire and Gurr & Purr's records will need to be updated.
PLEASE NOTE - If at any time your pet is found to have fleas, ticks, parasites, etc., Gurr & Purr may provide appropriate removal treatment at your additional expense, or may terminate services until the problem is resolved so as not to transfer parasites to other clients.

Spaying/Neutering
Gurr & Purr requires that all pets over the age of 6 months be spayed or neutered, unless specifically advised by veterinarian.

Pet Health/Behavior & Safety
Please note these policies are in effect for ALL pets safety and health.
-
Gurr & Purr will make every reasonable effort to administer oral medications and injections as directed but is not responsible for complications that may arise resulting in skipped or delayed delivery. For example, a pet biting or scratching, etc. I will inform you of this asap.
-
Gurr & Purr reserves the right to refuse service to any pet for any reason, including, without limitation, if the pet appears sick, injured, in pain, or their behavior could jeopardize the health and safety of other pets or staff.
-
If your pet requires immediate veterinarian care Gurr & Purr will do everything possible to contact you. In the event I cannot reach you I will transport your pet to the closest vet clinic (in a direct emergency) or to the clinic listed on your service agreement, if possible. You, the pet owner will be responsible for any and all veterinarian fees incurred for your pet's treatment.
-
All pets must be in good health. No coughing, sneezing, vomiting or diarrhea 48 hours prior to arrival to my home. If your pet is displaying any of these symptoms while he/she is in my home, depending on booked service, you may be asked to have your pet examined by a veterinarian before returning, or in communication with you I will take your pet to your clinic. If your veterinarian is not available an appointment will be made with my clinic. Depending on severity of issue an emergency visit may be required.
-
If your pet has been treated for a contagious illness, regretfully, Gurr & Purr cannot accept your pet for at least 2 weeks after treatment has been completed.
-
Gurr & Purr accepts pets needing routine medications for chronic conditions. Pets needing hospice service will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
-
Regretfully, Gurr & Purr cannot accept pregnant pets, females in heat, dogs that are aggressive toward other animals or people, pets that mark or chew.
-
Pet owners are responsible for any damage pets do to my home.
